EXERCISES FOR BACK RELIEF
Many people believe that rest is best for a painful back, but actually, what
your back really needs when it’s hurt is exercise. Regular exercise relieves
back pain by strengthening and stretching the muscles that support the spine
and helps to prevent future injury. This is a use it or lose it situation: the
more you rest, the weaker your back gets, even if it is hurt. Studies have actually
shown that you can heal your back pain faster and get back to your regular activities
with just two days of rest. |

In my later years of medical school, I thought that pain
treatment was below me. Even though acupuncture was best known
for its effective pain relief, I thought that the Western
medical world was simply behind as usual. We were amazed to
learned all the other diseases we could treat with acupuncture,
like neurological problems, immune system dysfunction, anxiety,
and depression, and I thought, "Anyone can treat pain.

Being a Personal Fitness Professional, I hear from many people
who are suffering from various aches and pains, and unfortunately
are misinformed. One thing I am constantly hearing from people
is "I've got a bad back," or "just my old tennis
elbow acting up". This frustrates me because these people
